page drop-down contents (collective issue)
We discussed that page numbering should follow a set of simple rules for all editions. This issue therefore replaces #102, #151. The rules are as follows:
- the view (consecutive numbering) is shown first, derived from
<pb>
element,n
attribute - potentially, a "page" is appended in parentheses this number is calculated like this:
- collect all
<fw>
elements, directly following the above<pb>
- if they contain a
<fw type="drawNum">
which doesn't have an attributeresp
with value#Archivist
, use that element's contents as "page" - otherwise, use the first
<fw type="pageNum">
whose contents DO NOT contain only of<supplied reason="unprinted">
and use its contents for "page" - if no suitable
<fw>
can be found, only show the view number as above - when there are
<choice>
elements present, the<corr>
element within should be removed
Examples:
- pitzler, de, 133
- neumann, fr, 1
- sturm, fr, 1
- sturm, fr, 5
- corfey, de, 47
