The GFL importer consists of three parts. The Solr importer component contains the User Interface (UI) and the general importing logic. At runtime, it finds the GFL plugin component and uses it mainly to convert GFL-specific files to Solr-compatible index files. The Solr config component contains the complete configuration needed to create a Solr server. The GFL plugin does not have a real dependency on it, but rather uses the same definitions, like for example the same Schema field names defined there. This is the reason why the arrow is dashed.

After the conversion is finished, the Solr importer sends the produced index files to Solr. Solr itself must use the same configuration as the GFL plugin, so that the compatibility can be guaranteed.

The Solr importer component is not part of this project, but rather its own project. For more information, see the documentation at https://github.com/subugoe/solr-importer/wiki. Explanations on how to embed the Solr importer can be found in the Readme file at https://github.com/subugoe/solr-importer#usage-as-a-framework.
