Handling of newly discovered vocabulary concepts
There is the need for a workflow, how we handle vocabulary concepts that are discovered at a source and are not available in the vocabularies of MP. There are at least two possible scenarios to keep in mind:
- Manual discovery when analysing a source: Probably for this scenario we can do a manual vocabulary management - having a way to add a new concept into the MP backend by administrators.
- Automatic discovery when doing an ingest: This is tricky - it seems not clever to automatically add a new discovered concept, it may need some curational discussion. Therefore we would need a way to communicate such new discovered concepts to the curation part of MP. Either it is added and marked as to be reviewed or it is communicated different to the vocabulary management so that administrators add the new discovered concept manually and at the next ingest it will be discovered. Probably version 1 is the better workflow, but I guess it would need some adaptions on the backend (being confronted with new concepts that are not in a vocabulary).
