Discuss edition options for static pages like the about page
Currently static pages are edited directly in the JavaScript source code (e.g. for the about page). We should discuss, if this is a sufficient method for doing changes in such static pages. As long as they don't change that much and we do have only a small amount of such static pages, this may be convenient enough. The advantage is that it serves very performant. The downside I see is that it must be very well documented and circulated so that in the future it is clear, where to do changes for such pages. It also needs a basic understanding of JavaScript.
I would prefer to have all edit options in one place (that would be the curation part of the MP). Therefore I argue, that there are better options as the current one to edit such static pages. It could be served from the database via the API or - as Stefan proposes - there are markdown files that can be edited and that are read by the frontend. There are sure some other options on this.
It has no high priority, but we should keep it in mind. If the about page is the only static page we need, then we may leave it this way, but if there are more "static" information pages planned to integrate on the MP, we should discuss the best option.
