Deployment fail isn't indicated by CI

Description
If the deployment API isn't intact, the CI doesn't complain.
I expected the following to happen
If the deployment fails, the CI job should fail.
On the contrary, I observed

- run a pipeline on develop and have a look at the deploy stage.
