callback overhaul?
I don't like that we have two types of callback structs that mean different things: some (like
SaveCallback
) do a specific task, others (like the generics) represent a specific condition when to do that task. These are two different things that in my opinion should have two different representations, and I'm not happy with the current compromise where the "functional" callbacks internally use "generic" callbacks to trigger their own functions.
(from InPartS-legacy.jl!94)
at some point i'd like to clean this up also, callbacks should be exportable, which is another reason to avoid the anonymous functions, at least in "important" applications.
