Multi gene expression page
Idea
Sometimes, users wish to see certain gene expression side by side or in a grid. The idea is to provide such a tool only in interactive mode. First, the users selects a number of genes, the layout of a grid (e.g. 4 by 3) and which dimension reduction to use. The user then hits a button and the figure will be generated, showing a grid with dimension reductions, colored by gene expression of the selected genes.
This is not meant as a data exploration tool, which means that no interactivity needs to be provided for the individual plots. Instead, the idea is to create a tool that allows to compose high-quality figures that the user can use for presentations / publications.
Implementation
- Create a UI, where the user can select genes from a expression table, and as well the number of rows and the number of columns of the grid. The UI should also have a button Generate figure.
- Upon pressing the button, a routine starts to create the figure from individual plots. Have a look at
multipanelfigure
for high quality figures.
